Sugar Ray Leonard: SEXUALLY ABUSED
One of the greatest fighters of all time is releasing a pull no punches autobiography by the name of “THE BIG FIGHT: MY LIFE IN AND OUT OF THE RING.” He states in his new book that he was sexually abused as a young fighter by his Olympic coach, citing the first time at 15 years of age, and another time occurring inside of a parked car. He has stated that it has haunted him his entire life and that is the case with most sexually abused people. It’s just a shame that this coach will most likely never face any formal charges.
You have to respect Leonard, although some will obviously say that he’s doing this to push book sales as they did with Scott Brown, when he came forward against his molester. Leonard is a 5-Time world champion, a Gold Medalist in the 1976 Olympics, and a man of many more talents. He filled the gap that Muhammad Ali had left and is still a household name.
He should be commended for his courage.
