Vatican CHILD ABUSE SCANDAL – NEW DEVELOPMENTS

On Monday, the Vatican issued a letter which ordered bishops across the world to come up with guidelines for dealing with priests that sexually abuse children. This is a long time coming for the Catholic Church. For years, children, now adults, have been coming forward and accusing their priest of molesting and/or raping them, and the dirty laundry of the church was aired in more than one way.
On top of the priest’s criminal behavior, the church’s continual non-punishment of the priest has really hurt their reputation. In fact, many of the molester priests were just moved to a new community to ruin the lives of many other children. There was a time when children were raised to trust priests and police officers, but times have changed, at least with the church.
To some, this letter has come too little too late, while others contend that there is no punishment for the bishops not adhering to the policies to expose and remove the molester priest. It is yet to be seen if this will help the situation or ease the pain of those that have been victimized by a priest.
