Casey Anthony: Air Sample Specialist – PROVES CAYLEE WAS IN THE TRUNK
We are in the third week of the Casey Anthony trial and it has captured the imagination of the public. In fact, there are videos of people running to the courtroom and acting as if they are at a concert for their favorite band.
Truth has proven far more dramatic than fiction as the entire Anthony family has taken the stand. Cindy, the mother, sobbed on the stand as they played her 911 phone call reporting young Caylee missing. Her father George spoke of the smell of death in the trunk, but has taken a lot of jabs along the way from his daughter.
Casey has attempted to shift focus to her father, stating that he is responsible for the death and cover up of her daughter’s death. The icing on the cake was a molestation charges against him and Lee Anthony, the brother of Casey.
The defense has a very uphill battle in this case, as everything that would seem to be in the favor of Casey would hurt them. The ex-boyfriend was supposed to verify that Casey spoke of the molestation but when he took the stand, he said nothing of the sort.
This case all comes down to one thing, it seems, and that is Casey’s car.
George and Cindy both reported that it smelled of death, and both could recognize that odor due to their professions, especially George, the former cop. The tow truck operator also testified that he recognized the smell and had come across it before. Casey’s explanation to her friend hurt her, as she noted that she hit an animal and that the dead carcass remains on the grill was responsible for the odor.
A hair found in the trunk was the focus on Saturday and an expert reported that the hair was one of a decomposing body. The defense called it “junk science” but it was still a huge blow to the defense.
Now Arpad Vass, a researcher at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory was the first witness called to the stand today. Vass is a specialist in detecting human decomposition from air samples, which would be another step in the right direction for the prosecution.
The contention is that Casey killed her 2 year old, Caylee, and dumped her into the woods. She didn’t report her missing…her mother Cindy did after 31 days, and then the nanny kidnapping story was created and the long line of lies have been told. Casey is an unlikable character, and her cold demeanor is court is sealing her fate, along with the mountain of evidence stacked against her.
