Fernando Montiel Returns to the Ring on June 25th
On June 25, three-division world champion Fernando “Kochulito” Montiel will fight for the first time in Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico. It will be his first fight since losing his WBC bantamweight crown to Nonito Donaire and Montiel is going directly into a tough fight against former WBA interim champion universal Nehomar Cermeno. “I am very happy to fight in this city that I consider as my home even though I’ve never climbed in a ring here,” said Montiel. “Rest assured that you will see a 100% Montiel because we’ve already closed that sad page,” he said, referring to the fight with Donaire.
