In this edition we cover all the MMA news this week and talk about upcoming fights, recent fighter signings and rumored fights. We cover UFC, Strikeforce, and Bellator as well as TPF, Shark Fights and MFC. Tune in for all the news in the wonderful world of mix martial arts.

Bellator

Bellator 46 takes place in Hollywood, Florida as the summer series featherweight tournament takes place with Marlon Sandro facing Genair da Silva and Pat Curran facing Luis Palomino. Curran was a finalist in the lightweight tournament last year upsetting Roger Huerta on the way to losing a 5 round decision over Eddie Alvarez. Bellator 47 takes place at casino Rama in Rama, Ontario the main event is Joe Warren (featherweight champion) facing Patricio Freire. Freire won the last featherweight tournament with a victory over Daniel Strauss and hopes to defeat Warren who will also be competing in the bantamweight tournament.

Strikeforce

This Saturday Strikeforce features Fabricio Werdum vs. Alistair Overeem and Brett Rogers facing Josh Barnett, also K.J. Noons vs. Jorge Masvidal and valentjin Overeem vs. Chad Griggs, Justin Wilcox vs. JZ Cavalcante.

The next event is Strikeforce Challengers 24 with Carlos Fodor vs. James Terry followed by Strikeforce challengers: Bowling vs. Voelker 3.Then the big July event on the 30th with Dan Henderson vs. Fedor.

Shark Fights fighter Danillo Villefort was supposed to make his debut at the challengers Fodor vs. Terry fight but injured himself and is unable to compete. He was set to face Antwain Britt who was moving down to middleweight for the first time.

UFC

On June 26th UFC live features Nate Marquardt vs. Rick Story as well as Matt Mitrione vs. Christian Morecraft and Cheick Kongo vs. Pat Barry. On July 2nd UFC 132 features Dominick Cruz defending his bantamweight title against Urijah Faber. Also on the card is Wanderlei Silva vs. Chris Leben and Tito Ortiz facing Ryan Bader.

Other MMA News

Shark Fights 16 takes place June25th with Josh Neer facing Jesse Juarez in the main event. Shark fights 17 takes place July 15 with Matt Horwich facing Jake Rosholt. Last Saturday Marcus Davis decisioned Pete Spratt at MFC 30. Brian Cobb (19-6) upset Drew Fickett with a first round TKO. The next dream event is titled: fight for Japan GP final featuring the bantamweight tournament final as well as Gegard Mousasi facing Hiroshi Izumi and Hiroki Takaya putting his dream featherweight title on the line against Kazuyuki Miyata.
