Watch Wladimir Klitschko Vs David Haye LIVE NOW!
I pity Ash Lane3-0, Nathan Reeve 1-0 and Liam Daly 2-0. Today they will pitch up at the Park Inn Hotel in Northampton, England filled with dreams and hopes for the future. All three are undefeated and perhaps one of them may become notable as a future star of the international circuit – who knows? Of course they are so early in their careers we won’t after tonight either but what eejit, which wally, what utter numpty phoned each of them up and said, “Hey guys how about the next stage of your career being on the same night as some guy called Haye takes on one of those Klitschkos guys – howsabout it?”
Me? I’d be ringing round for new agents and promoters because if you do not have a ticket, have not booked it on pay per view you are sure to miss out on one of the most exciting nights of the year.
The excitement is building with Haye continuing the war of words. Firstly there was the whole robotic style thing. He wants to see this Klitschko robot malfunction. That got under Wladimir’s skin.
For his own part Wladimir wanted to make clear he was going to teach David Haye a lesson in the ring. Forget the, “I admire you as a fighter” nonsense Wladimir wants to destroy Haye. Teaching him some manners is a bit like trying to teach Charlie Sheen Public Relations, a pointless exercise. That was the point Haye was making. Haye is not coming to be taught manners. The lack of manners got him the gig. He wants Klitschko to invest heavily on the idea of revenge BEFORE he needs to. It proves that Klitschko is thinking outside of the ring. It proves he is rattled.
Haye also wore the t-shirt that really gets to both Klitschkos – the one where he is knocking “an unknown Eastern European Heavyweight’s head off.” Utterly disrespectful that may be it is not a patch on Mike Tyson claiming he wanted to eat Lennox Lewis’s children – At the time Lewis didn’t have any… – but we get the idea. The response of the handshake offered, that Wladimir knows Haye will not return, is pure theatre and more for the cameras and effect – an attempt to take back the centre of this circus ring. It’s just not very good theatre.
Haye won that war without trying. He has even gone further as we get closer to the fight by sensationally claiming that Manny Steward wants, after he has defeated Wladimir, to work with HIM! Previously Steward has been complementary with regards to Haye’s record and ability but Haye has claimed that, in a conversation between them, Steward made it clear he would like to help him beat Vitali. The relationship between trainer and fighter is always close but the veteran trainer only comes into the Klitschko camp towards the end of it.
It allows for sufficient doubt over how close this pairing is that some have taken Haye’s assertions very seriously. Haye did decline the offer as he has one of the best tacticians in his corner in Adam Booth. Publicly at least Manny Steward is confident of a Klitschko victory but it may be yet another under the skin tactic that works.
Even the weigh in will have uncharacteristic attention – even for a Heavyweight fight as we all want to know if Haye and Klitschko will finally start the fight right there, right then. One things is absolutely for sure –we are ALL READY TO RUMBLE!!!
