Grizzly Bear ATTACK: MAULS MAN TO DEATH at Yellowstone National Park
A couple was hiking along the Wapiti Lake Trail in the Grand Canyon part of Yellowstone National Park, when they came across a grizzly sow and her cubs. The grizzly, a very territorial animal, especially when with cubs, attacked. “The bear attacked and killed him,” stated Al Nash, a spokesman for the park.
Nearby hikers dialed 911, but it was too late. The park rangers arrived to find the dead body and the grief stricken wife. Nash continued to say that the “sow grizzly was protecting her cubs.”
The park does have warning signs and have stated that human encounters with bear are very rare. The investigation is ongoing.
