CHEATING SCANDAL IN ATLANTA – Prosecutors Ready to Strike
There are 178 teachers in Atlanta that state investigators say cheated on standardized tests to inflate the students’ scores. The Prosecutors are now currently deciding if they want to go after the large group criminally.
The cheating took place in 2009, and it is said to include teachers erasing wrong answers on state tests, and adding in the correct one. Thus far, 82 teachers and principals have confessed to cheating, according to the state report.
The cheating is said to have occurred as early as 2001, and the several warnings for misconduct were ignored by all involved. As of now, the investigation is ongoing and there are several teachers denying that this occurred. RSR will keep you updated.
