Casey Anthony SUED: PAYING FOR LIES – IS SHE GUILTY OF FRAUD?
A volunteer search group has decided to sue “Tot Mom,” Casey Anthony, seeking to recoup over $100,000 dollars that the group said it spent looking for Caylee, the missing daughter. The lawsuit alleges that it was an act of fraud because Casey knew that her daughter was dead. She was not missing, as the Anthony family claimed in 2008.
Tim Miller, the founder of the non-profit organization that is suing Casey stated that “it was Jose Baez’s opening statement when he said Caylee was never missing because she had died that really got me upset. We were lied to and misled.”
On two different occasions, the group traveled to Florida to help in the search for Caylee, spending a reported $112,000, which prevented them from helping many other families that were also seeking help, searching for other missing children.
“We have no agenda other than to recoup the money and use it for which it was intended,” Miller stated.
Casey Anthony was found not guilty of murdering her daughter Caylee, creating a public uproar. She will be released on Sunday, but the story continues. Nancy Grace is still covering her and much of the public believes that Casey got away with murder. There have been reports of death threats and fist fights between supporters of Casey and those that believe she is a killer.
The lawsuit by Miller’s group is the first of what could be many. Casey Anthony stands to make a great deal of money and although Miller’s intentions don’t seem wrong, there will be plenty that come out of the woodwork that will be looking strictly for the buck. Casey is going to be dealing with plenty of headaches upon her release and for years to come.
