New Orleans Police Officers CONVICTED: KATRINA SHOOTINGS LEAD TO CONVICTION

By Geno McGahee

A federal jury in New Orleans just convicted five current or former police officers in the deadly shootings on a bridge after Hurricane Katrina. The officers were convicted of charges, coming from the fact that they attempted to cover up the shootings.

The Prosecution contended during the trial that the officers shot unarmed people without justification and without warning, killing two and wounding four more on September 4th, 2005. They then attempted to cover it up by getting people to falsely testify and concoct reports. They also tried to plant weapons on those shot.

Robert Faulcon, Robert Gisevius, Kenneth Bowen, Anthony Villavaso, and Arthur Kaufman were convicted in the shootings and the cover up.
