Manny Pacquiao – Juan Manuel Marquez III on HBO: Floyd Mayweather JR taking on Pacman Coming Together?

By Geno McGahee

HBO has won the right to show Manny Pacquiao, 53-3-2, 38 KO’s, versus Juan Manuel Marquez, 53-5-1, 39 KO’s, on November 12th from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

There was an ongoing battle between Showtime and HBO for the fight, and with Showtime winning the last one, a May 7th bout between Pacquiao and Sugar Shane Mosley, many thought that they would repeat the feat and have the Pacman’s upcoming showdown. HBO has now landed the two recognized superfights of the year with Floyd Mayweather, JR., returning to take on Victor Ortiz for the WBC Welterweight title, and Manny finishing his trilogy with Marquez.

You can expect HBO to run the 24/7 series for Pacquiao/Marquez III along with some work with CNN that has been heavily publicized.

There is a glimmer of hope for those that are hoping for Mayweather, JR – Pacquiao, now that they are both on the same network, again, but don’t bank on the fight happening. The most likely scenario, as history has taught us, is that the fight will come close to materializing and then find some reason why it can’t.
