Hugh Carey DEAD: New York Gov. Passes Away

The former New York Gov. Hugh Carey, died at the age of 92 today. He played a key role in the financial crisis of the 1970s, proving instrumental in helping the city dig itself out of a financial ordeal.

Carey passed away at his home in Shelter Island. He was a decorated Army Officer in World War II.
