Teddy Atlas heavyweight protege Alexander Povetkin, 22-0, 15 KO’s claimed the WBA “Regular” heavyweight championship via a twelve round unanimous decision over former WBA Heavyweight Champion Ruslan Chagaev, 27-2-1, 17 KO’s. When the scorecards were read, Povetkin was the winner by 117-113 (twice) and 116-112.
