Boxing News: Omar Chavez – Jorge Paez, JR. Fight in the Works

Two sons of legends will headline Saturday’s card at the Foro Promocasa in Mexicali, Baja California. Welterweights Omar “Businessman” Chavez and Jorge”Maromerito” Paez Jr. will be featured in separate fights. Chavez (26-0-1, 19 KOs) has the seemingly tougher assignment against Alberto Martínez (15-1, 10 KOs), while Paez (28-4-1, 17 KOs) faces Rodrigo Juarez (15-13-1, 11 KOs). If both are victorious, Chavez and Paez could fight each other. “If Zanfer offers me the fight and we agree on it, I think it would be interesting to face Paez and people we would like it,” stated Chavez, “but first I must get by on Saturday and then wait Zanfer’s proposal.”
