Sly Stone HOMELESS: THE FACTS
TMZ has reported that the famous musician responsible for the huge hit “Everyday People,” Sly Stone is living in a white van that he parks in the Crenshaw neighborhood in LA. He stated that “I like my small camper. I just do not want to return to a fixed home. I cannot stand being in one place. I must keep moving.”
The money troubles came when, in 2009, he stopped receiving royalty checks from his manager, which ended in a 50 million dollar lawsuit. Stone also noted that he sold his music publishing rights to Michael Jackson for 1 million dollars in 1984, a decision that he regrets.
He may be delusional, a part of his problem, noting that the FBI and others were trying to kill him. It’s a sad scene for a former great musician.
