Floyd Mayweather JR GOES TO JAIL – Manny Pacquiao MUST WAIT – Boxing News

By Geno McGahee

Floyd Mayweather, JR., 42-0, 26 KO’s, has been sentenced to 90 days after a plea deal. The charges were reduced to domestic violent battery and harassment. Judge Melissa Saragosa ordered Mayweather to report to jail on January 6th, and he would also be forced to complete 100 hours of community service and pay a fine of 2500 dollars.

Due to the plea deal, there will be no trial for the felony allegations that he threatened and hit his ex-girlfriend in front of their two children in September of 2010.

There was consistent talk that he would finally be facing off against Manny Pacquiao, but this has created yet another obstacle as two why these two fighters can never fight, although Bob Arum, promoter for Pacquiao, has noted that the jail time will just push the super fight from a May date in Las Vegas to a June or July date.
