Paul Williams & Tavoris Cloud BOXING RESULTS – SHOWTIME SHOCKERS
Paul Williams, 41-2, 27 KO’s, cruised to a wide decision win over Nobuhiro Ishida, 24-7-2, 9 KO’s, by scores of 120-108 across the board. It was a good performance by Williams, using his volume punching to rule the ring.
Gabriel Campillo, 21-4-1, 8 KO’s, was robbed of the IBF Light Heavyweight Title, losing a split decision to defending champion, Tavoris Cloud, 24-0, 19 KO’s, by scores of 116-110, 114-112, and 111-115.
Cloud knocked Campillo down twice in the first round, but that was about it. Campillo won nearly every round after that and should have cruised to the decision winning handily.
It’s been another black eye for the sport of boxing. Just when you think it can’t get worse, it does.
