Thomas Parkin, 51, was just convicted on charges that included grand larceny and mortgage fraud and was sentenced to 13 to 41 years in prison. He dressed up like his mother, doctored her birth certificate and continued cashing her social security checks for six years after her death.

Parkin would wear a blond wig, a dress, and oversized sunglasses and he paraded into the bank to collect the money. Parkin was a sad gal when he told the judge that he “never hurt anyone or used stolen funds for personal gain or injury.”

Irene Prusik, the mother of Thomas, passed away in 2003 at the age of 73. Thomas would become her, much like Anthony Perkins in PSYCHO, in order to keep the 2 million dollar home and social security checks.

A funny meeting occurred between Parkin and the investigators where the drag queen showed up. They had already seen the grave of his mother and knew the deal and would have some fun before confronting him. Parkin noted that this case “was a drag.”
