Floyd Mayweather JR JAIL SHOCKER – Boxing News

By Geno McGahee

Floyd Mayweather, JR., the pound for pound best fighter in boxing turned himself in Friday to begin a 3 month jail sentence, stemming from an attack on his ex-girlfriend in September of 2010.

Mayweather, JR., was credited with attending weekly domestic violence counseling sessions. The reduced domestic batter charges concern hair-pulling and twisting Josie Harris’s arm. Harris is the mother of three of his children. Floyd’s deal that he agreed to ensured that he would not have a felony on his record and the safe bet of 3 months in jail was much better of a deal then gambling to what could have been 34 years in prison, if convicted.

The three months will fly quickly and expect Floyd to get out of jail, ready to regroup and set up another fight. Should Pacquiao win against Bradley this Saturday, the fight that the world wants to see may finally materialize. It’s unlikely, but there is a glimmer of hope.
