WBO lightweight champion Ricky Burns (35-2, 10 KOs) retained his title with a fourth round TKO over Kevin Mitchell (33-2, 24 KOs) on Saturday night at the Scottish Exhibition Centre in Glasgow, Scotland. Burns dropped Mitchell twice in round four and the bout was waved off. Time was 2:59.
Comebacking former world champion Scott Harrison (27-2-2, 15 KOs) outpointed late sub Joe Elfidh (7-2, 0 KOs) over six in a lightweight bout. Harrison dropped Elfidh in round one and cruised to a six round 60-53 decision. Harrison may be in line to face the winner of Burns-Mitchell.
Super featherweight John Simpson (24-9, 11 KOs) scored a second round KO against journeyman Dai Davies (9-19-2, 1 KO) to win the BBBofC Celtic belt.
