Former two-time lightweight champion Julio “The Kidd” Diaz (40-7, 29 KOs) scored a dominating fifth round TKO over Hector Sanchez (19-3, 9 KOs) in a welterweight clash on Saturday night at the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California. Diaz dropped Sanchez in round two and blasted him out of there with a barrage of clean shots in round five. Time was 2:03.

In an upset, veteran super featherweight Roger “Speedy” Gonzalez (28-6, 18 KOs) won a ten round majority decision over hot prospect Andrew “Chango” Cancio (14-2-2, 11 KOs). Cancio pressed the action but Gonzalez came out on top 96-94, 96-94, 95-95.
