Adrien Broner ARREST UPDATE: Bit Security Guard & More – BOXING NEWS

By Geno McGahee

The WBC lightweight champion, Adrien Broner, is ready to take over the entire world of boxing and assume the role of best pound for pound fighter when Floyd Mayweather, JR., vacates, but will his out of the ring activities throw a wrench in the works?

The showmanship in the ring, obnoxious antics, and disregard for his opposition’s abilities has earned him a great deal of heat as a villain, but it’s incredibly smart marketing. Mayweather, JR., and Muhammad Ali did the same thing. Many paid to see them lose…but perhaps Broner’s character isn’t just a character. His recent arrest raises some questions and must terrify his promotional team.

He was arrested in Miami after an altercation with another male. When security stepped in to break up the fight, Broner allegedly bit one of them on the forearm.

On his Twitter, Broner pointed to something racial as being the motive of this arrest and continued with the same bravado that we’ve become accustomed to, but if he doesn’t watch his step, he could easily end up screwing up what could be a remarkable career. Ike Ibeabuchi is a good example of a fighter that did just that.
