Chris Arreola BEATEN BADLY: Bermane Stiverne Emerges as a Klitschko Threat: BOXING NEWS & RESULTS

By Geno McGahee

Heavyweight Bermane Stiverne, 23-1, 20 KO’s, proved that he is a top contender and a legitimate challenger for the heavyweight title with a dominant 12 round win over Chris Arreola, 35-3, 30 KO’s, taking the scores of 118-109 and 117-110 (twice). Arreola came in aggressive but Stiverne used his jab and in the third round, he dropped Arreola hard with a right hand, breaking his nose.

From the third round on, Stiverne gave Arreola the worst beating of his career. He was a bloody mess and in the final rounds, he was nearly collapsing from the body work. Don King got roughed up at the end by Dan Goossen but he came out in one piece and was happy that his fighter is now the mandatory challenger for Wladimir Klitschko. It was a great performance by an exciting heavyweight contender.
