Lucas Matthysse, 34-2, 32 KO’s, walked through Lamont Peterson, 31-2-1, 16 KO’s, with ease, winning via spectacular knockout in the third round. In the first round, Peterson tried boxing, using range and his skills to take the round, but in the second round, Matthysse found his range and dropped Peterson with a left hook.
Peterson survived the round, but in the third, Peterson would be flattened in a left hook exchange. He barely got to his feet but it was over quickly after with Matthysse pounced and scored another knockdown.
Matthysse has now put Danny Garcia in his crosshairs.
