Marcos Maidana KNOCKS OUT Josesito Lopez – BOXING NEWS & RESULTS

Marcos Maidana, 34-3, 30 KO’s, survived some brutal shots from a game Josesito Lopez, 30-6, 18 KO’s, to score an impressive sixth round stoppage. In the first two rounds, Maidana used some sharp punches to stun Lopez, but the fight would turn in round three and Lopez would seem to be on the verge of a stoppage upset victory.

In round six, Maidana scored with a right hand to the head that dropped Lopez. Lopez got up but had no answer and the referee quickly stopped it and Maidana moves on and showed why he is such a big draw. He is a vulnerable power-puncher that is dangerous at all times. That’s a big attraction in boxing and Maidana will be exciting no matter who he fights. Lopez once again showed him heart, but was once again out of his league.
