Manny Pacquiao – Floyd Mayweather, JR Pound for Pound Lie (Responses Column)

By “Bad” Brad Berkwitt

Good morning RSR Readers…  Sunny here in good ole Virginia this AM… Saturday morning, I wrote an article titled:  The Manny Pacquiao – Floyd Mayweather JR Pound for Pound Lie with my theory of all the antics from both Team Mayweather and Team Pacquiao’s camp to pump up a boxing match that really at this point, needs no more obstacles in its way to be signed. Well, the responses poured in from both sides of the fence ranging from the absurd to totally agreeing with me or somewhere in between.  I thought it would be fun to post some of the comments in this article and then respond to them. So with that said, here we go…..

“Bad” Brad,

Your theory is nuts! What’s next, we never landed on the moon?

Jac

Jac,
I had to laugh on your email.  Standing by my theory, but you should email Geno McGahee because he loves conspiracy theories and may support your Moon one!

Yo B Man,

You had me laughing on the Leonard “I Make Up Good Stories” Ellerbee line. I have dealt with him in the past as well and understand what you are saying man. This seems to be a pattern with this cat. He feels in my mind that he is bigger than Floyd and yet, Floyd pays him. This fight needs to be made and being a fellow boxing writer, let’s continue to push for it to be a done deal.

B Artest

B Artest,

OK I am sure I will hear something back on this one, but are you the same B Artest from Boxing Talk that many say is really Greg Leon?  If so, cool..  Many all time great writers actually wrote under alias names.  Prince actually wrote under a moniker of Alexander Nevermind on the hit track by Sheena Easton called Sugar Walls from the mid 80’s. If this is a fake email, hey we take them to at RSR.  Everybody gets a response whether you say something negative or positive.  Brian Wilbur is proof of that..

Brad,

Being a big fan of Manny Pacquiao, I cannot totally agree with you that it’s his side that is making the fight not happen. Manny has fought the best and each time out, he has destroyed them starting with Erik Morales in the rematch. Why would Pacquiao’s camp not want a fight to happen that Freddie feels in his bones that his man can win? Now I do think you are right about Team Mayweather and all their Bull#$%^. I just want this fight to happen before the year is out.

Pacman #1

Pacman #1,

We agree that this fight needs to be made for sure during 2010.  I feel as I wrote that both sides are Co-starring in this Blockbuster feature with equal billing.

Idiot,

You are raving idiot! Many Pakquiao would smash your face in if he see you.

Jinky

Jinky,

Wow!  I am the idiot which is your opinion, but at least I can spell Manny Pacquiao.  Tip:  Cut/Paste his name next time or better yet, write it across the board 100 times.  Then when you get done, check your sentence structure!

“Bad” Brad,

Your theory has some merit, but I really do think this is more of a case of both of them (Manny and Floyd) meeting one on one to squash the stuff that both their camps are doing on their behalf. Sure they get paid to make their fighter the most money, but they are also, hurting boxing because as you mentioned, “their antics” are being picked up by mainstream media that never touches boxing items. I would rather them do something much more positive.
Professor D

Professor D,
1000% I concur with you and I also think the fans of both Manny and Floyd would agree with your thoughts as well.

LOSER,

You should DIE! I hope Manny and Floyd give you a Cleveland Steamer!
Mad Max

MM,

Wow die huh?  Are you sure this was not meant for Eoin’s article where he talked about Manny not being a God?  Either way, I had no idea what a Cleveland Steamer was, but looked it up. Quite disgusting I might add!  So as my Dad used to say, “May you be fruitful and multiple, but not in those words”.  Figure that one out, but trust me, it doesn’t mean you are one swell guy!

“Bad” Brad,

I could care less about what you think, you LOSER! Manny is my favorite fighter. And remember you LOSER, Boys rule and girls drool. Miley Cirus I love you!

Backseat Cuddler

Backseat Cuddler,

Seek help immediately!

Brad,

What gives you the right to say these things about my homey Floyd? He would kick Manny’s a@#$ any time! His camp doesn’t need to say or make up sh#$!

Anthony Brownstone

Anthony,

Thanks for writing. My right to say this is the First Amendment just like it is yours to say what you did.  Nobody is innocent here on both sides and in time, it all will come out.  In the interim, let’s hope this fight happens sooner than later.

These were a few of the emails I received and thought the RSR readers would enjoy.  As always, we encourage you to write in and you also have the option to post any comment you want up on our articles. Just register on RSR and let the comments begin!

In closing, I stand by my theory, but to continue on, I also want this fight to be made for the boxing fans out there that would drop $54.95 in a heartbeat to see it.  Bob Arum and Floyd Mayweather’s Promotional Company need to squash all the BS Antics and make the fight now! Everyone is going to make out in the $$ department for sure!  Finally, when the fight is made, Bob put it in a stadium like you did this past Saturday night for Yuri Foreman vs Miguel Cotto.  Between the stadium feel that comes from no other venue and the job Referee Arthur Mercante, JR. and Steve “Double SS” Smoger did (Big Kudos), not only do the fighters make out, but the fans do  too….
