The Last Of Us – Playstation 3 VIDEO GAME NEWS & UPDATE
Leading videogames retailer GAME has announced its biggest lock-in series of all time, with 75 stores opening late to give gamers exclusive early access to forthcoming blockbuster The Last Of Us, weeks ahead of the games official release date on Friday 14th June. The lock-ins, in partnership with Sony PlayStation®, will take place between May 3rd and June 9th, providing the UK gaming community with more coverage and more destinations than ever before.
As if the opportunity to experience a post-apocalyptic America, where you will battle all manner of monstrous infected and crazed survivors wasn’t enough, Sony will be providing attendees with food and refreshments to keep the survivors nourished while outside the quarantined zone.
Customers who attend can also pick up a double-sided The Last Of Us poster when they pre-order the game, while stocks last. Customers who have already pre-ordered The Last Of Us can bring along their deposit slip to collect their free poster.
Gamers can register for the lock-ins at their nearest participating store, either in person or by phone, or by sending their local store a tweet to be in with a chance of taking part in the action. Spaces are limited; customers must be over 18 and will be chosen on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Last Of Us tells the story of Joel, a survivor of the savage cordyceps virus infection which has plunged the USA into a chillingly-authentic post-apocalyptic hell. He embarks on a cross-America trip with a precious cargo, Ellie, leaving the relative safety of the quarantine zone where they will encounter fierce mutated husks and crazed survivors. From the award-winning team behind Uncharted, Crash Bandicoot and Jak and Daxter, The Last Of Us delivers a gritty, cinematic experience interspersed with genuine survival-action to deliver a compelling and unique gaming experience.
