ChinaJoy – Games Composing Your Dream, Mobility Inspiring the Future – VIDEO GAME NEWS
As China’s game publishing industry undergoes a significant change with the rise of mobile games, the 11th ChinaJoy to be held in Shanghai on July 25-28 will focus on “Games Composing Your Dream, Mobility Inspiring the Future ”.
ChinaJoy & WMGC’s joint press conference was held in Shanghai on June 25, during which the organizing committee disclosed latetest changes and highlights of the events. Government officials from the General Administration of Press and Publications (GAPP) and authorities in Shanghai and Pudong New District attended the press conference.
Mr. Yu Kun, Deputy General Manager of Howell International Trade Fair Ltd., introduced the preparatory work for the ChinaJoy2013 and the WMGC2013. This annual event will attract more than 400 companies from at least 30 countries and regions, with more than 600 game products on show. The four-day B TO C exhibition will cover an area of more than 60,000m2, and is expected to attract 200,000 visitors. Exhibitors will include major domestic producers, including Netease, Tencent, Perferct World and Changyou.com, as well as overseas game companies and associated game hardware and software providers, including EA, Blizzard, Intel, nVIDIA, Crytek, UNITY, HOVOK, UBISOFT and Logitech. ChinaJoy B TO B Area this year will see its exhibition area expanding 20% to reach 12,000 m2, and with more than 300 exhibitors. It has grown into the world’s largest B TO B exhibition of game industry.
Apart from exhibitions, ChinaJoy’s conferences, including CDEC, CGBC and CGDC, will see a leap in the number and level of their speakers. CDEC, in particular, will focus on four themes on development of local made games, global extension of the enterprises, eco-system creation for the industry, overseas cooperation for regional made games.
Apart from ChinaJoy’s well-known supporting events, including ChinaJoy Cosplay, Miss ChinaJoy and ChinaJoy Live, this year’s new highlights will be Intel Extreme Master (IEM), Video Games Live (VGL) and ChinaJoy Princess.
The simultaneous conference WMGC, focusing on “The Rise of the Mobile Games”, will present a mobile game B TO B exhibition area at Hall W4 of Shanghai New International Expo Center, which has attracted China’s three largest telecom operators – China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom, as well as emerging mobile game channels, platforms, distributors, developers, including Tencent, 360, 91.com, UCweb, CocoaChina and iDreamSky. Meanwhile, Mobile Game Technology Summit, WMGC Cocktail Party, Launch of White Paper for Global mobile game industry and WMGC Best Products Award Ceremony will also add glamour to this year’s WMGC.
