FIFA 14 – XBOX One and PS4 BREAKING VIDEO GAME NEWS
With FIFA being one of EGL’s most common LAN events, EGL is proud to announce a new partnership with Games-Universe.co.uk to bring to you a very special event on the game’s most widely played mode, Ultimate Team.
As fans of this mode, EGL is fully aware of the rush to try and create the ultimate dream team as a new FIFA game releases every year. This year, they have teamed up with Games-Universe.co.uk and will be live streaming a FIFA 14 Pack Opening Marathon & Giveaway exclusively on the Xbox 360 to help kick start your dream team with a nice bag of e-cash or even a top rated player. Those who are planning on purchasing the game on the Xbox One will be glad to know that you will be able to transfer any players to and from the current-generation and next-generation platforms. Therefore, if you’re planning on purchasing FIFA 14 on Xbox One, you are still eligible to win.

How many packs will EGL be opening?
Through the sponsorship with Games-Universe.co.uk, EGL will be opening between 150-200 gold premium packs in one lengthy session, assuming that the pricing structure for gold premium packs is the same as FIFA 13.
Will there be any breaks in between?
You’ll be glad to know that there won’t be any breaks. We are going to do the marathon from start to finish, uninterrupted (subject to technical hiccups!).
What will EGL be giving away?
Throughout this entire event, EGL will be giving away coins (obtained from discarding cards) and top players. The number of coins and players is dependant on what we manage to find. The luckier we get, the luckier some of you will get! Even if we obtain Messi, Ronaldo or anyone of that stature, we will be giving the player away to one very lucky person!
What about ‘Legend’ cards?
EA recently announced at Gamescom that special legend players can be found in packs on Ultimate Team exclusively on Xbox. If we find these players in packs, we will also be giving them away.
When is the live stream?
The live stream is currently scheduled for Saturday 28th September at 8pm UK time and will happen on http://www.twitch.tv/EGLtv. The date is subject to change, so make sure that you follow us on Twitter or keep an eye on this announcement, which will be updated if the dates change.
When will the actual giveaway happen?
We will give away some prizes towards the end of the live stream and perhaps announce some lucky winners during it. However, we will also be giving away some of the rewards won, throughout October via competitions on YouTube and Twitter (to cater for those who weren’t able to tune in to our stream). To maximise your chances of bagging some coins or a top player, make sure you follow us on Twitter, as well as subscribe to our YouTube and Facebook channels! EGL will decide what we give away once we have opened all packs. We will definitely give away prizes to some lucky viewers who watched our live stream.
What if I cannot make the live stream?
Unfortunately you will miss out on the opportunity to win some prizes during the live stream, however we will also be uploading the entire stream on YouTube and we will save some of the great players and coins for competitions on Youtube and Twitter (@EGL)! To maximise your chances of winning, make sure that you follow and subscribe to our channels.
Why is this event not on the PS3?
This event is currently being run on the Xbox however if it turns out to be a success, EGL and Games-Universe.co.uk will discuss the possibility of running a very similar event for the PlayStation gamers out there! Therefore, even if you’re not an Xbox gamer, show your support by watching our live stream or YouTube video.
Are there any entry requirements?
As long as you’re watching the live stream, you are eligible to win a prize at the end of the it (we may even give something out in the middle of the stream!). If you enter one of our competitions through YouTube, Facebook or Twitter, you must have accounts with them and subscribe/follow EGL in order to be eligible. We will remind you of all entry requirements in the video. You must of course, own an Xbox (Xbox 360 or One) as well as a copy of FIFA 14 for us to provide you with your prize(s).
Am I eligible to win more than one player/set of coins?
Of course. If you’re selected as one of the winners at the end of the stream, there is nothing stopping you from entering and potentially winning another one of our competitions for more players and coins later on.
