Matthysse never found the mark. The slight movements by Garcia were enough to confuse the challenger and avoid the punches. In the 11th round, Matthysse landed his Sunday punch, but Garcia stood up to it and dropped the challenger in the same round. In the final round, it was a slugfest, and Garcia clearly won, taking the unanimous decision by scores of 114-112 and 115-112 twice.

Garcia is quickly becoming a superstar.
