Tragedy struck a Washington Navy Yard as possibly two shooters opened fire, killing at least 13 people. One of the shooters has been identified as 34-year-old, Aaron Alexis, who reportedly worked at the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base in Fort Worth, Texas. Alexis was killed inside of the facility.
There is still some confusion as to what happened today, but the steady reports are claiming at least two gunmen entering the Navy Yard and opening fire. They may have been disguised in military uniform and used, reportedly, a handgun, shotgun and AR-15 assault rifle in the attack.
The motive is unknown at this time, but Alexis has had several run-ins with the law, arrested for discharging a firearm in public being one of them. There is plenty of speculation going on at this point, but nothing is concrete, but we should know more when and if the second gunman is apprehended. They are hesitating calling this a terrorist act, but it fits the bill. It’s just a home-grown one.
Stay tuned as more details come in…
