Sakio Bika Fights to a Draw with Anthony Dirrell – Showtime BOXING NEWS & RESULTS

By Geno McGahee

Sakio Bika, 32-5-3, 21 KO’s, the WBC super middleweight champion retained his title with an ugly draw with the challenger, Anthony Dirrell, 26-0-1, 22 KO’s, by scores of 114-112, 110-116 and 113-113. It was your typical Bika fight. He was forcing his way in there with his head first and causing as much damage with that as he did with his fists. Dirrell fought scared and did what he could to keep the champion off. Bika walked him down but a low blow would cause a point loss and the dirty tactics of the champion nearly cost him the fight.

In the final round, Dirrell danced around the ring with his hands up and didn’t leave a good impression and that may have been the difference in the fight. In the end, Dirrell did not take the title from Bika. The belt is still where it should be and Dirrell will have to go back to the drawing board.
