Beibut Shumenov KNOCKS OUT Tamas Kovacs in 3 – SHOWTIME BOXING RESULTS

The WBA light heavyweight champion, Beibut Shumenov, 14-1, 9 KO’s, had no problem chasing down and stopping the sloppy challenger, Tamas Kovacs, 23-1, 14 KO’s, in the third round. The tone was set in the first round when a left hook crashed Kovacs to the canvas. He got up and was put down from a body shot in round two. A right cross would drop the challenger in the third round and convince the referee to stop the fight. This was just a mismatch.

Shumenov holds onto the WBA light heavyweight title and is targeting Bernard Hopkins for his next fight.
