Shawn Porter KNOCKS OUT Paulie Malignaggi – SHOWTIME BOXING RESULTS – BOXING NEWS

Shawn Porter, 24-0-1, 15 KO’s, retained his IBF welterweight title with a fourth round stoppage of Paulie Malignaggi, 33-6, 7 KO’s. This fight was similar to the Ricky Hatton-Malignaggi fight where the Magic Man just couldn’t find an answer to the mauling style. The difference is that Porter is much stronger and hits much harder than Hatton.

With the title-winning effort against Devon Alexander and now this stoppage of Malignaggi, Porter is quickly moving up that crowded welterweight ladder. There is a saying that a fighter gets 50% better after they win the title. That isn’t the case often, but in Porter’s case, it applies. He is a budding star and, as always, Malignaggi was a class act and took the loss in stride. A great night for the champion.
