Floyd Mayweather JR – Marcos Maidana CONTROVERSIAL MAJORITY DECISION – Showtime Boxing PPV Results

By Geno McGahee

Floyd Mayweather, JR., 46-0, 26 KO’s, had his hands full with Marcos Maidana, 35-4, 31 KO’s, but would go on to win a majority decision by scores of 114-114, 117-111 and 116-112, proving that PBF, much like Manny Pacquiao, goes into his fights with points on the scorecards going in. RSR had Maidana winning 115-113 and the 114-114 was close to the truth. The 117-111 and 116-112 were ridiculous and an insult to Maidana and the sport itself.

The first half of the fight was primarily the aggression of Maidana dictating the match. The last half of the fight showed the ability to adjustment of Floyd as he began to find the mark and figure out the style of Maidana. The fight that Maidana had got close, but a final rally by Maidana made it dramatic.

If this fight was a blowout for Floyd, the demand for a rematch wouldn’t be so loud. This fight could have gone either way.

ANTONIO MARTIN’S THOUGHTS

Brian Kenny, did you get your man crush on with the Pretty Boy Mayweather sweetie? Yeah, you sit there and say that my man, Marcos Maidana, lost 9 to 3? Really? Really? Kenny, you wouldn’t know a good decision if it harpooned you in your fat ass. YA HEARD! Yeah, that’s what I said girl, and if you think that this decision was right, you need your eyes and junk checked! Maidana, you did us proud and you need to get that rematch and make it count and tell Kenny that he isn’t all that and a bag of cool ranch doritos. Doritos? Yeah, what next, a dildo? Nice try Kenny, but you are NOT the KennyFather. That’s Garth Brooks.
