The rematch between heavyweight Tony Thompson and Cuban Olympic gold medalist Odlanier Solis on October 18 at the Castello Dusseldorf in Dusseldorf, Germany. Promoter Ahmet Oner returns after a long break to present another boxing event in Germany. Thompson defeated “La Sombra” earlier this year in Turkey and this bout is viewed as Solis’ last chance to get back into the heavyweight mix. The card will also be the first card promoted by Ahmet Oner in Germany in quite a while. “For me, it’s kind of a comeback in Germany”, says Oner. “I have held back a little bit in the last few years and took care of other things. But after that German boxing is dead on the ground. It’s time to initiate recovery measures.”
