Artur Beterbiev Knocks Out Tavoris Cloud in the 2nd Round

At the Bell Centre in Montreal, two-time Olympian light heavyweight Artur Beterbiev (6-0, 6 KOs) showed he’s a force to be reckoned with in the 175lb division after a second round annihilation of former world champion Tavoris Cloud (24-3, 19 KOs). Beterbiev dropped Cloud three times in round one and again in round two before the slaughter was halted at :38. Beterbiev won the NABA belt. Cloud dropped his third straight.

Former #1 contender Stephane Ouellet (29-6, 18 KOs), of Jonquiere, Quebec, lost a four-round middleweight fight against Belgium import Cedric Spera (11-2, 2 KOs). Ouellet, 43, returned after a ten-year retirement.

In the co-feature, WBC #10 lightweight and former world title challenger Dierry “Dougy Style” Jean (27-1, 19 KOs), fighting out of Montreal by way of Haiti, stopped Mexican invader Daniel “Cañerito” Ruiz (32-7-2, 22 KOs) in round five.

A pair of popular Quebec-based, world-rated welterweights, former world title challenger Antonin Decarie (31-2, 10 KOs) and Kevin Bizier (22-1, 15 KOs) were both victorious. WBC #6, WBO #10 and IBF #11 Decarie stopped Ivan Pereyra (19-4, 13 KOs), of Belgium, in round five, while IBF #6 Bizier blew out Laszlo “Bulldog” Fazekas (25-16-1, 17 KOs), of Hungry, in round one.
