BOXING & MMA NEWS: Boxing, MMA and Muay Thai Collide on One Spectacular Night in Woodland Hills, California

On Thursday, June 21, in the Grand Ballroom of the Warner Center Marriott in Woodland Hills, California, Ivaylo Gotzev’s Epic Sports & Entertainment and All Star Promotions will proudly present “Mixed Combats: The Rising Stars of Boxing, MMA and Muay Thai”.

A night of hard-hitting professional boxing, MMA and Muay Thai, “Mixed Combats” will allow fans a closer look at several up-and-coming stars in three separate fighting disciplines.

The main event will feature an MMA showdown between two capable 20-fight heavyweight veterans in Ricky “Ice Cold” Shivers and Mychal “Bolo” Clark.

An Anchorage, Alaska, native, Shivers fights out of the Barra Gracie Gym in Houston, Texas, and is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with a record of 11-6. Charismatic Strikeforce veteran Mychal “Bolo” Clark of Long Beach is a dangerous striker, whose record stands at 9-12.

The co-featured MMA bout will be a heavyweight battle between two tough customers on the local scene, submission specialist and Brazilian jiu-jitsu World champion Adriano Camolese will face ominous skull cracker Justin “Bully” Schalk.

In his pro 155-lb welterweight debut, Russia’s Georgiy Savlokhov will take on also pro debuting Machado black belt Raphael Carrao, the Owner/Instructor at Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Malibu Club.

One of the most talked about up-and-coming heavyweight prospects James “The Beast” Wilson of IFC Gym in Van Nuys will have his second professional fight against Jose Santa Maria of Oxnard, California.

In the professional boxing portion of the night, outstanding Inglewood, California, prospect Peter Haro, a Golden Gloves Champ, Junior Olympic, Pan American, and other tournament champion and medalist will make his four-round welterweight debut against California’s Golden Glove Champion Elliot Seymour of the Wild Card Gym.

Promising 6′ 7″ Romanian heavyweight Razvan Cojanu (4-1, 1 KO) will look to continue his winning ways against San Diego, California, southpaw Anthony Mooney (2-2) in a four-rounder; and Simi Valley, California, lightweight Robert “Scrappy” Ortiz Jr. (7-4-1, 3 KOs) will face an opponent that is TBA over six.

In the Muay Thai portion of the night, several local gyms will send their best young competitors into battle including IFC Gym’s own Jermaine Soto, colorful crowd favorite Borin Khoun; an exciting match is made between female sensation Yasamina Kabisch from Muay Thai School USA and Alyson Bloom from Bas Rutten’s Elite MMA Gym in Westlake, California; and many others.

Event promoter Ivaylo Gotzev has previously been best known as a boxing manager, having expertly guided the careers of former heavyweight champion Sam Peter, all-time-great multi-division champion James Toney, former heavyweight champions Sergei Liakhovich and Shannon Briggs and a host of others.
