CM Punk Vs Ryback & John Cena: HELL IN THE CELL – WWE Should Change its Name to “WTF”

By Dani Mitchell

That’s how I felt last night watching Raw. Last night was the big announcement of who would face WWE Champion, CM Punk at Hell in a Cell; the choices being John Cena or Ryback.

After a grueling match last week between McMahon and Punk, Mr. McMahon announced that CM Punk would have to make his decision on last night’s Raw. The Second City Saint came out ready to make his big announcement and when he was booed by the audience thought it would be a good idea to keep them in suspense. It was a short lived idea, McMahon did his strut out on stage and said since Punk didn’t make a choice it was going to be left up to him, and he would announce it later.

We all know when there is a big announcement like that it’s coming at the end of Raw. So at 10:58, the boss came out, followed by Punk, Cena, and Ryback. I though okay, Ryback isn’t a main event caliber kind of guy and Cena says he’s healthy… so it is gonna be Cena. Ryback will probably freak out and slam Punk around…end of story…NOPE.

Cena complained about CM Punk a while and Ryback grabbed the pen and signed his name to the Hell in a Cell Contract in front of him. WTF?! How in the hell does this guy get a shot at the title, especially when the WWE has completely jobbed out some of the best talent on the roster?

Ryback is going after the title. Christian has been completely absent, Randy Orton is in WWE title limbo, Cody Rhodes is a tag team partner, the list goes on… What has Ryback done to deserve a shot at the title? Nothing. He’s earned nothing. I don’t even know what kind of match to expect at Hell in a Cell. WWE has dug itself into a hole with this one. Where can they really go with this story? If (and it’s a big IF) he would beat CM Punk and become the WWE champion, imagine what it would do to the WWE storylines going on right now.

Speaking of jobbing out talent: Daniel Bryan. He is one of the most talented men on the roster, and they are turning him into a complete joke. Yes, it’s funny. Him and Kane have a real comedic thing going on right now, but is that all they are going to do with him now? Have a good laugh at the expense of Bryan. He came out last night just to lose to Big Show. It was pointless. After the title match at Hell in a Cell, I hope they move past this and bring Daniel Bryan back to the main event talent he is truly is.

In other news, Sin Cara and Rey Mysterio were supposed to compete against Team Rhodes Scholars for the spot to face Team Hell No at Hell in a Cell, but Mysterio was said to be sick so it didn’t happen. We will have to wait a week to see who will earn their spot in the title match. I am hoping its team Rhodes Scholar just because I am interested to watch Bryan and Rhodes styles of wrestling compete. I am also interested in seeing how Damien Sandow would do against someone like Kane. This would be a big deal for Team Rhodes Scholar, they would have a chance to prove themselves as a tag team.

Now, just one more thing before I sign off…. Champion CM punk who was involved in an altercation with a fan a week ago at Raw may be facing legal action. The WWE and the champ had issued apologies if you want to call them that. They both basically said they were sorry that security wasn’t where they needed to be. In my opinion that’s the only apology they need. I do not blame Punk for reacting like a human being. The fan was last said to be seeking legal action but I have not heard anything else on the matter since. Also, Punk has fans scratching their heads when he started a “rumor” on twitter. He was talking about the show walking dead and said he plans to watch when he gets home “in 2015,” a fan responded, “@CMPunk you just started a rumor that you’re retiring in 2015.” Which in turn the superstar replied, “Ain’t a rumor if it’s true.” Hmmm…could he be punking us or is he getting burnt out.

Something to think about.
