Brasil Game Show BREAKS RECORD – VIDEO GAME NEWS & UPDATE

The Event gathered 100,000 visitors between October 11th and 14th at Expo Center Norte, in São Paulo

Brasil Game Show exceeded expectations and confirmed the title of Largest Game Show of Latin America. In its 5th edition, the Event received 100,000 visitors in three days open to the public (October 12th, 13th, and 14th) and one day exclusively for journalists, guests, and professionals of the area (October 11th).

During Brasil Game Show 2012, more than 20 titles were presented even before their worldwide release, such as God of War: Ascension, Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Halo 4, DMC Devil May Cry, Book of Spells, Lost Planet 3, Metal Gear Rising, Hitman Absolution, Assassin’s Creed 3, Order of Magic, Skylanders Giants, Bond: 007 Legends, Far Cry 3, and The Avengers: Battle for Earth, among others.

Approximately 150 companies participated in the Event, which ensured new and diverse attractions to the public, including the unedited presentation of Nintendo’s Wii U in the country, a Press Conference held by Sony with the presence of journalists from all over Latin America, at which the company revealed its plans for the region, and the presence of Microsoft with the XBOX Line, in a more than 500 m2 booth.

Major producers were present for the first time in the country, such as Katsuhiro Harada, producer of the Tekken series, Philippe Ducharme, one of the producers of Assassin’s Creed 3, and Kiki Wolfkill, executive producer of Halo 4. In addition, 10 Competitions were held, with emphasis on the Brazilian League of Legends Championship, the Tournament commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Street Fighter series, and AMD Brasil Game Jam.

Business

BGS 2012 had a turnover of approximately R$50 million in business and promoted over a thousand business meetings through its Matchmaking System. This was one of the main innovations of the 2012 edition, which will be maintained next year.

Social

Over its four days, BGS collected more than 40 tonnes of non-perishable food, which were donated to Casa Hope, an institution that assists in care for children and adolescents with cancer. The Event’s organizers appreciate the collaboration of all visitors, which was critical to the success of this initiative.
