Patrick and Micki Nielsen are back in action on December 13 when the Nordic Fight Night returns to the Albertslund MusikTeatret. The Danish boxing brothers headline the hometown show, which also features rising Swedish star Erik Skoglund against former world champion Glen Johnson.

Patrick Nielsen (22-1, 11 KOs) has it all to prove when he returns, following an unsuccessful interim WBA World title challenge in Moscow, to face Ronny Mittag (22-1-1, 9 KOs) in front of his home fans in the Copenhagen suburb.

“It’s time to get back in the ring and show everybody who I really am,’’ said the 23 year-old middleweight. ‘’Of course, it’s been tough coming to terms with my loss in Moscow but I’m ready to put that behind me and move forward with my career.

“I’ve been working hard since my last fight and I’m looking forward to showing my fans that I’m back to best. It’s going to be great to box in Albertslund again. It’s the perfect place for me to get back on track and end the year on a high.”

Nielsen’s coach, former two-time world champion, Joey Gamache is also confident the young southpaw can get back to winning ways on December 13. ”You win and loose in boxing. That’s part of the game,’’ said Gamache. ‘’Patrick has dealt with his loss in a good way. He looks motivated and is ready to show people that he is here to stay and he has what it takes to make it to the top.’’

Younger brother Micki Nielsen (15-0, 12 KOs) will co-headline the show against an as yet unnamed opponent. The hard-hitting cruiserweight is back following second round KO victory over Tamas Bajzath in September.

‘’It will be a special night in Albertslund,’’ said the 21 year-old. ‘’I love boxing in front of my home fans. Their support always gives me a big boost. I will give everything in the ring to repay them for their support.’’

The Nielsen brothers are joined by Swedish light heavyweight Erik Skoglund (21-0, 11 KOs) who faces boxing superstar Glen Johnson (54-19-2, 37 KOs). ‘’This is another big step up for me but I’m ready for the challenge,’’ said Skoglund. ‘’I’ve already proven that I belong at European level, by beating Johnson, I will prove that I belong at world level!’’

Said promoter Nisse Sauerland: ‘’We have a great show lined up on December 13. Patrick is back and ready to put to rest any doubts remaining from his Moscow defeat. We have a huge announcement coming up regarding an opponent for Micki. Plus a massive fight for Erik against a bonafied boxing legend. This is the last Nordic Fight Night of 2014 and we’re going to end the year with a bang in Albertslund!’’

Full undercard details for the Nordic Fight Night at the Albertslund MusikTeatret will be announced shortly. Tickets are available via billetnet.dk.
