Mickey Rourke SHOCKER – Boxing Comeback
Mickey Rourke, one of the coolest and most talented actors to ever grace the movie screen, who also is a huge supporter of boxing, is making a comeback to boxing, after last stepping in the ring as a professional some 20 plus years ago when he fought a four round draw against journeyman Sean Gibbons. Rourke, would retire with a professional record of 6-0-2, 4 KO’s.
Well, fast – forward 20 plus years and Mickey Rourke has decided at the age of 62, he wants to fight once again, as a professional boxer. On November 28th, on the undercard of Ruslan Provodnikov Vs. Jose Luis Castillo, Rourke will face Elliot Seymour, who is 1-9 and has been knocked out once in his professional career.
I know many will think the fight is a joke and Rourke has no business at his age fighting again. I am going on record to say, this is Mickey Fucking Rourke! He has never adhered to anyone’s drum beat in his movie career and personal life, so at his age, why should he now? Many talk about doing things, Rourke is doing it. Hollywood all, but counted him out years ago and in 2009, he made one of the biggest comebacks in Hollywood history in the movie “THE WRESTLER” earning him a Best Actor Oscar nomination that he should have won. I, for one, wish Rourke the best. Keep doing what you always do Mickey, bucking the system!
