Jesse’s WWE RAW Report: Chris Jericho Vs Randy Orton

Opening vignette of the Miz and Daniel Bryan’s feud. Clips of the Miz destroying Bryan last week and of him not tapping out at Night of Champions. Randy Orton vs. Chris Jericho is being promoted as tonight’s main event as well, with the stipulation that if Jericho wins, of course, then he will be the new number one contender for the WWE Championships.

The Miz and Alex Riley make their way to the ring now. Miz says Bryan challenged him and Riley to a tag team match tonight. Miz thought Bryan was smarter than that, because since tonight is Monday night, and Monday night is Daniel Bryan beat down night, and tonight’s episode will include his tag team partner. John Morrison’s music interrupts Miz this time, and Morrison joins Bryan in the ring.

Bryan starts things off against Riley, scaring Miz off the apron while fighting Riley. Morrison enters the match but Riley takes the upper hand. Morrison dropkicks Riley and pins him for a near fall. Morrison gets hung up on the top rope by Riley. Miz tags in and stomps Morrison in the corner. Riley chokes Morrison from the outside while Miz argues with the ref. Miz see saws Morrison’s neck into the bottom rope. Morrison reverses a suplex into a crossbody and pins Miz for 1, but Miz regains control. Riley tags back in and stomps a mudhole into Morrison in the corner. Riley hits a nice sitdown body slam on Morrison and pins Morrison for a near fall. Knocks Bryan off the apron then they team up on Morrison in their corner.

Miz tags in, and Riley holds Morrison in the corner while Miz hits a jumping clothesline on him. Pin for a near fall. Miz works on Morrison’s shoulders, but Morrison breaks out with a snapmare. Morrison tries to leap over Miz, but Miz catches him. Morrison rolls under Miz and tags Bryan in. Bryan catches fire and knocks Riley off the apron. Bryan dropkicks Miz in the corner and pins him for a near fall. Bryan attempts to lock Miz into the LeBell Lock, but Miz tosses Bryan into Morrison, knocking him off the apron, and the Miz drops Bryan into a Skull Crushing Finale. Miz pins Bryan, 1, 2, 3. Miz kicks Bryan in the midsection after the match, but Morrison knocks Miz out of the ring. Bryan jumps through the ropes and into them both, and a brawl between the three ensues. Bryan knocks Morrison into the bell keeper. Morrison jumps off the barricade onto the other two.

Blinks! The GM announces that at Hell In A Cell, Daniel Bryan will defend the U.S. Championship against John Morrison and the Miz. For the first time ever, the match will be a triple threat submissions count anywhere match.

Natalya, Gail Kim, Melina, Gail Kim, Eve Torres, and the Bella Twins walk past Maryse, Jillian, Tamina, and Alicia Fox, previewing a Diva’s battle royal to determine the number one contender.

Layla and Michelle McCool watch the battle royal from ringside. The Diva’s Champion, Laycool, speak flawlessly at ringside. Tamina eliminates Melina. Gail Kim and Maryse battle on the apron, but neither are eliminated. Tamina eliminates Gail Kim. Eve Torres eliminates Tamina by tossing her over the top rope. Bella Twins do a little double trouble shaking on Jillian, then toss Alicia Fox and Jillian over the top, but as they lie on the apron, they try to baseball slide them off, and they move out of the way, so the Bellas eliminate their selves. Eve eliminates Maryse, then Fox kicks Eve out of the ring, so Jillian and Alicia double-team Natalya. They toss Natalya over the top. They high five but Natalya stays on the apron, and Fox double crosses Jillian and eliminates her. Fox goes back to Natalya and tries choking her off, but again Natalya is resilient. Natalya body flips Fox over her and to the mats to eliminate her, and Natalya is the number one contender to LayCool’s Diva’s Championship.

Edge will have the General Manager as his guest on the Cutting Edge segment tonight. Will the anonymous GM finally be revealed?

The WWE Slam of the Week goes to Eve Torres and R-truth’s win over Maryse and Ted DiBiase last week. Maryse and Ted’s secret admirer’s message is shown on the Tron.

Cut to Maryse and DiBiase arguing about losing their matches last week and tonight backstage. Someone knocks on the door and slides a note under it. DiBiase opens the door but no one is there. Maryse opens the letter and reads “Next week you will be mine” translated from French.

Sheamus makes his way to the ring while his match with Randy Orton is advertised for Hell in a Cell. The crowd boos him viciously. Sheamus briefs the story of the Fiery Red Hand of Ireland. In this story, two princes were involved in a race to become the next king of Ireland, where the first prince to put his hand on the people of Ireland would win. The younger prince was about to lose the race, so he cut off his own hand and tossed the fiery red hand over his brother and into the crowd of his Irish people, so he won through his sacrifice and passion, thus becoming the next king of Ireland. Sheamus says Orton has been underestimating him, and that he should ask Triple H about him, since he ended his career. Sheamus says he is not only a three-time WWE Champion, but also the fiery red hand of the WWE. Sheamus taunts the wrestlers in the back to come fight him, and no one is brave enough to do it. After waiting, The Great Khali finally makes his way out to the ring. Standing face to face, their match begins.

Khali smacks Sheamus’ chest hard in the corner, then Sheamus goes on the offensive and pummels Khali, kicking him to the outside. Sheamus follows and pounds Khali and kicks him. Sheamus continues the assault by smashing Khali with the announce table top, and both announcers’ rolling chairs. The ref ends the match, then Khali fights back, knocking Sheamus into the ring post. Khali goes for a big slap, but misses and hits the post. Sheamus hits a big Bro Kick on Khali’s face, and another , then stands over Khali and taunts him. Sheamus, while proving that he is barbaric and remorseless with his assault on Khali, he has indeed felt the fiery red hand, as Khali left a big paw mark on Sheamus’s chest from his initial chest smack.

No Contest; Double Disqualification

The Rated R Superstar Edge presents another segment of the Cutting Edge when we return to Raw. Edge will interview the anonymous GM, via Cole’s laptop. Edge announces that despite their acrimonious relationship he thanks the GM for giving him time for an interview. The GM’s voice will be transferred digitally so as to keep the identity a secret. Edge asks the first question: why are you such a spineless coward. The response is: why are you such a moron? The voice does not want his or her identity to be revealed, because it would change everything. Edge suspects many people, and calls the GM a big fat liar. The GM says he only wants peace, and asks Edge why he despises him/her so? Edge wonders what he is doing by arguing with a computer. Edge decides to go ask Chris Jericho who the identity is. The GM says Jericho is bluffing, but the the GM knows many things, like Edge’s opponent tonight. Edge walks up the ramp, but the GM says the he/she has just scheduled a match between him and this man…

Out comes John Cena! Edge looks pissed. They square off in the ring as Nexus looks on backstage. Cena headlocks Edge to start. Edge moves into the corner and breaks out with a punch to Cena’s head. Edge stomps Cena in the corner before the ref breaks it up. Cena takes Edge down into an STF, but Edge counters out and knocks Cena to the outside. Ref starts the 10 count, but Edge baseball slides Cena before he can get back in the ring. Edge follows outside and tosses Cena shoulder first into the steel steps. The crowd chants for Cena, but Edge tosses Cena back in the ring and covers him for a near fall. Cena sneaks Edge up for an Attitude Adjustment, but Edge slips out and hits an Edge-O-Matic on Cena. Pin for a near fall. Edge pounds on Cena but Cena fights back with a few punches and rolls the momentum into a couple of sholder blocks. Cena’s shoulder is hurting him though, so Cena remains down. Edge covers him for a 2 count. Edge whips Cena into the corner and taunts the crowd. Edge attempts a suplex but Cena hooks the leg, then counters into a snap suplex of his own. Ref starts the 10 count, then Cena brings Edge up into another AA, but Edge again reversed the move, but this time into an Edgecution DDT. Edge pins Cena, 1, 2, Cena kicks out. Cena fights back and a few punches and a bulldog on Edge. Cena puts Edge on the top rope, and Cena attempts a super AA on Edge, but Edge drops out and avoids it. Cena whips Edge into the corner and rushes him, but Edge avoids it and runs off the ropes to spear Cena. Edge pins Cena for the victory…

Blinks! The GM speaks and says Cena’s foot was clearly under the ropes during the pin. The GM announces that the match will continue. Edge rushes Cena and pins him for a near fall. Edge attempts another spear, but Cena counters into an STF! Edge crawls to the ropes, and is just about to reach them until Cena unleashes the hold and drags Edge back into the center of the ring. Cena slaps on the STF again, and this time Edge taps out. After the match Edge evilly stares down the GM’s laptop. Edge walks over to it, but the GM speaks, telling Edge that he lost fair and square, and not to look at him like that. The GM tells Edge to walk away, but when Edge doesn’t obey, the GM asks him what is up, telling him that he has the crazy eyes. With this, Edge tosses the podium over and knocks the laptop loose. The GM warns Edge before Edge grabs a steel chair and breaks the laptop into pieces. After Edge finishes his assault on the computer, Chris Jericho’s match with WWE Champion Randy Orton is advertised, along with Chris Jericho’s new DVD set, “Breaking the Code” which is available tomorrow.

Cole and King remind that Smackdown! will move to SyFy this Friday Night, and then recap Edge’s dismantling of the GM’s computer.

Wad Barrett leads The Nexus to the ring for a tag match against Mark Henry and Evan Bourne. Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater are chosen to face The World’s Strongest Man and Air Bourne. Slater starts off against Bourne. Slater tosses Bourne head first into the corner and tags Gabriel in. Gabriel punches Bourne and pins him for a near fall. Gabriel body slams Bourne and tabs Slater back in, who hits an elbow drop after running the ropes on Bourne. Slater applies a chin lock after an unsuccessful pin attempt. Bourne fights out with some kicks to Slater. Bourne avoids a clothesline from Gabriel on the apron, this hits a Codebreaker-like maneuver on Slater. Gabriel tags in but Henry gets the hot tag from Bourne. Henry knocks Gabriel down head butts him and punches him down again. Henry tosses Gabriel into the corner and slams Slater. Henry military press slams Gabriel down and sets him up for an Air Bourne, but Slater blocks Henry’s leg and knocks him to the outside. Slater follows, and Gabriel goes for the 450 Splash. Bourne evades it though and Gabriel gets some boots to his kidney. Bourne goes up top now and hits the Air Bourne on Gabriel. Bourne follows up with a pin, 1, 2, but Slater pushes them over, and Gabriel ends up on top of Bourne now, 1, 2, 3! Gabriel and Slater pick up the victory. With this, Nexus tosses Henry into the steel steps and then turn their focus on Bourne in the ring. David Otunga clotheslines Bourne down, then Michael Tarver hits a big right hand on Bourne. Slater knocks Bourne down from behind, then Wade Barrett picks Bourne up and tosses him down with a Wasteland. Barrett orders Gabriel to go up top.

Up goes Gabriel, and he nails a 450 Splash on Bourne to top it off. Barrett orders for a mic. Nexus lines up in a row, and Barrett reiterates that from the very beginning, you’re either Nexus or against us. After Hell in a Cell, John Cena will no longer be against us, because Cena will serve a purpose for thier group, bringing them to the top of the company, and demoralizing the entire WWE. Barrett says that they will show Cena that being part of Nexus isn’t necessarily a bad thing by taking a little trip. Otunga grabs the mic next and reveals that they will be present at Friday’s Smackdown! Nexus is giving Smackdown superstars a fair warning though. Tarver says the bad news is that THEY are the bad news, because even with a warning, no one can stop them. Their music hits and they celebrate in the ring.

New WWE Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre walk backstage. Rhodes stops to check himself out in the mirror before McIntyre gets his attention. They will face off against the Hart Dynasty next. Also, next week’s guest star will be Jackass’s Johnny Knoxville.

Accompanied by Natalya, David Hart Smith and Tyson Kidd hit the ring. Rhodes and McIntyre check themselves out in a unique mirror segment on the stage as they go to the ring. Friday’s match between these two teams last week is shown, and it is revealed that the Tag Team Championships will be on the line during this match. Kidd starts off against Rhodes. They lock up before Rhodes kicks Kidd. Kidd slides under Rhodes. Kidd does a unique pin on Rhodes for a near fall, but Rhodes kicks Tyson down. McIntyre tags in and takes it to Kidd. Cole comments on Kidd’s sarcasm and personality, but puts Smith down. Rhodes tags in and continues the assault. McIntyre tags back in, and Rhodes whips Kidd into a clothesline from McIntyre. Cover for a near fall. The crowd and Natalya try to get the Hart Dynasty back into the match, and Kidd knocks McIntyre down. Kidd gets the hot tag to Smith, who clotheslines Rhodes down and tries for a powerslam. Rhodes evades it, but is still met with a firemans carry slam from Smith. McIntyre runs in, but Smith tosses him to the outside. Smith sets Rhodes up for a Heart Attack off the rope, but McIntyre tosses Kidd off. Rhodes takes advantage and hits the Cross Rhodes on Smith. Rhodes pins Smith, 1, 2, 3. The Tag Team Champions retain their titles, and after the match Smith argues with Kidd about hitting him in the back to cost him the match. Smith storms off.

Rhodes & McIntyre retain the WWE Tag Team Championships

Undertaker and Kane’s match is previewed for Hell in a Cell this Sunday, as well as Sacrifice by Atom Smash as HIAC’s official theme song.

R-Truth and Cena interact backstage. Truth tells Cena that he always has his back regardless of what happens on Sunday. Cena says there’s nothing to worry about, and that he will take Nexus out one by one. Truth tells Cena to be careful. Cena says that he’s going to get krunk on Friday and meet Nexus at Smackdown. HIAC will start early for Cena!

Cena vs. Barrett, Undertaker vs Kane, Bryan vs. Morrison vs. Miz, Orton vs. Sheamus are all matches for Sunday’s Pay Per View.

Chris Jericho makes his way to the ring with a microphone. Jericho declares that he will be the Number 1 contender after he wins this match, and he will go on to win the WWE Championship this Sunday at HIAC. Jericho says the he isn’t scared of Randy Orton. Orton moves, thinks, and strikes like a snake whenever he wants, hitting the RKO. Jericho will cut the head off the serpent tonight, joining the list of Hall of Famers that Jericho has defeated. Jericho will be the Viper Killer, much like the Legend Killer that Orton used to call himself. Jericho rattles off all the wrestlers that he has defeated.

Finally Orton interrupts Jericho and walks to the ring. Jericho takes it to Orton and whips him to the corner, but Orton clotheslines Jericho off the rebound. Orton drags Jericho over the apron and punches his face. Orton uppercuts Jericho and rolls back in. Orton punches Orton, but Jericho punches back in the corner. Jericho runs off the ropes and kicks Orton in the midsection. Jericho takes it to Orton and tells him to get up. Orton fights back with a few right hands. Orton whips Jericho, but Jericho hangs onto the ropes. Orton clotheslines Jericho over the ropes to the outside and follows. Jericho whips Orton shoulder first into the barricade before a commercial break. Orton stomps and knees Jericho while Sheamus walks out to the stage to watch. Orton stares down Sheamus, but Jericho hits an enziguri on Orton to capitalize on the distraction. Jericho see saws Orton into the bottom rope. Jericho chokes Orton on the bottom rope. Sheamus smirks as he watches on. Jericho chokes Orton on the second rope now, and tries to nail Orton from behind but Orton evades so Jericho jumps into the ropes. Orton takes it to Jericho, but Jericho misses into the corner. Orton tries an RKO, but Jericho counters into a backslide pin for a near fall. Jericho dropkicks Orton and covers him, 1, 2, Orton kicks out. Jericho yells at the ref and applies a headlock on Orton. Orton gets up and breaks out. Orton runs into a dropkick from Jericho, who pins Orton for another near fall. Jericho knees Orton in the head, then applies another head lock. Orton counters into a back body drop to bide himself some time.

Orton clotheslines Jericho twice, and allows Jericho to run into a scoop slam. Orton punches Jericho in the corner and whips him to the opposite. Orton runs into a boot, and Jericho hits a bulldog on Orton. Jericho goes for the Lionsault, but no one is home. Orton hits a backbreaker on Jericho, and goes for an RKO, but Jericho throws Orton down. Jericho hits the Lionsault this time, and pins Orton, 1, 2, Orton kicks out. Sheamus still looks on. Jericho kicks Orton in the midsection and knocks him to the apron. Jericho tries for a dropkick off the ropes, but ends up on the apron as Orton moves in the ring. Orton sets Jericho up for a rope hung DDT, but Jericho counters out and slips Orton into the Walls of Jericho. Orton is nearly snapped in half as Jericho moves Orton to the center of the ring. Orton reverses and kicks Jericho out of the ring. Jericho runs back to the apron and Orton hits Jericho with a rope hung DDT.

Orton goes down and waits to strike, but Sheamus goes for a sneak attack, which Orton evades. Orton takes it to Sheamus and the ref inexplicably calls for the bell to be rung. Orton goes nuts and hits a rope hung DDT on Sheamus now too. Orton is about to punt Sheamus in the head when Jericho runs in and hits Orton with a Codebreaker to prevent a serious injury. Jericho saves Sheamus, and stares Orton down. Jericho grabs a steel chair now and waits for Orton to get up. Jericho tries to cut his head off with a chair shot, but Orton ducks the steel chair and delivers an RKO on Jericho. The crowd now chants “punt!” Orton moves to the corner and runs to Jericho. Orton punts Jericho’s head in to shock the crowd. Sheamus looks on, bewildered, from the outside, and Orton turns his attention to the Irishman. Orton and Sheamus engage in a staredown as officials tend to Jericho, who is still down in the ring. Sheamus’ nose is bloodied, Jericho is being placed on a stretcher, and Orton stands tall as Raw comes to a close.
