Amir Khan – Devon Alexander Final Press Conference GETS HEATED
The final press conference took place today for Saturday’s Golden Boy card at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas featuring former champions Amir Khan versus Devon Alexander in a welterweight clash plus, WBA interim welterweight Keith Thurman against Leonard Bundu, former world champion Abner Mares against Jose Ramirez in a featherweight bout and Jermall Charlo against Lenny Bottai in an IBF jr middleweight eliminator.
Amir Khan: I’m not taking this fight lightly because I know it’s going to be a very tough fight…I’ve learned from my losses but I’ve come back stronger and I’ve learned from that…My dream was always to fight in Vegas, now I’m here so it’s like a dream come true.
Devon Alexander: My resume speaks for itself, I don’t face the easiest fights only for money. I fight the toughest and top guys, I come to fight every time. Thanks to Amir Khan for taking a challenge…A lot of my UK fans want me to beat Amir Khan. I don’t know what’s happening over there, but thanks for the support guys.
Keith Thurman: I would really like to be fighting Amir Khan or Devon Alexander, but that’s not going to happen this time. But I told my team, it doesn’t matter where you get him from, I just want to fight undefeated guys. I like fighting undefeated fighters, I don’t know how many it’s been, I’m just going through them. Leonard Bundu is an Olympian, I’m excited to showcase my skills against an Olympian. It’s one time, every time. KOs for life. Don’t blink.
Leonard Bundu: I’m super excited to be here, thanks to all for getting me here. I’m here for some respect. I’m 40 but I feel younger. As I age I get better.
Abner Mares: I’m very grateful to Golden Boy. I’m the first fighter they took from pro debut to world champion. Yes I’ve been a three-time world champ, but that’s in the past. I’m a future four-time world champion. Remember that. I’m ready to give the fight fans an explosive show on Saturday night.
Jose Ramirez: It’s going to a hard tough battle against Abner Mares. Expect a war from both of us. Like the Mexican National Anthem says ‘Mexicans ready for war’ I’m ready for a war against Abner Mares on Saturday!
Jermall Charlo: Welcome to America Lenny. Know that there’s nothing like American power. I’ll showcase my power and what I have to offer.
Lenny Bottai: I expect a great fight and I see this as a stepping stone to make myself a name in the U.S.
Victor Ortiz: I might be sitting in the back today, but I am confident I will be at the front again someday. We’re starting over, thanks for all the support. I’m sharing the podium with a lot of great fighters. I’m ready to go.
Errol Spence: I’m thankful to be on this card. Everybody come out and see me perform. I’ll be in the front with these guys soon too.
