Deontay Wilder, 33-0, 32 KO’s just won a unanimous decision over WBC heavyweight champion Bermane Stiverne, 24-2-1, 21 KO’s at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Throughout the fight, Wilder worked behind a brilliant jab and hurt Stiverne at various times during the fight, but props to Stiverne tried his heart out though he couldn’t get anything off during most of the fight. in the end, the judges had it scored 120-107, 119-108, and 118-109. Wilder becomes the first American heavyweight champion since Shannon Briggs in 2007.
