Food For Thought: A Closer Look at the Negative Impact of Manny Pacquiao vs. Antonio Margarito
On November 13th at Cowboys Stadium the biggest tragedy in modern day boxing takes places when multi-belt champion Manny Pacquiao takes on convicted cheater Antonio “Hands of Plaster” Margarito for the WBC Junior Middleweight Championship of the World. To add injury to insult, the WBC comes out and sanctions this bout which shines a bright light on just how far organizations will go to get sanctioning fees. Jose Sulaiman recently was interviewed on RSR and though he was very candid in that interview, I have to give him low marks for allowing this fight to be waged for his title belt.
Here is some Food For Thought…. Groupie Journalists you know the ones, they walk around with the small ball caps that don’t fit on their oversized heads from the egos they have. Or the tight shirts stretched across their even larger bellies that say, “Please love me, I write nothing, but good things about this fight that involves my Hero Manny Pacquiao.” No matter what the GJ’s say, this fight is a farce. Many fans are coming out to acknowledge that as well so the GJ’s have to go to places where alcohol is served and then get a town drunk to repeat what they have told them to say such as: “You are one hot GJ in a very bloated kind of way, and this fight is the best thing for boxing.”
See now the GJ lends what in their mind is credibility to the fight, but what they are really doing is continuing to prove it’s a farce and anyone sober, would not agree that a bloated GJ was hot! Well, maybe they would if bloated was their thing, but they would probably be in the minority out there.
The saddest thing is that the non-boxing fans really know about this fight and when they hear the back story, they think the entire sport of boxing is corrupt. Some question if RSR is really going to boycott the fight and not report on it. Only way to see is to tune in! But, I can wager you this… RSR will cover the fight when the GJ’s pull their heads out of Manny’s tukus, learn the history of boxing and then, write articles on it. We know, it will never happen, but tragically this fight will and RSR won’t be part of it.
Take your $60.00 bucks on November 13th and do anything with it, but do not buy this PPV!
