Breidis Prescott – Fredrick Lawson: Breaking it Down by the Numbers

boxingringheaderBy Travis Fleming

Tonight on ESPN2, Columbian power puncher Breidis Prescott takes on Fredrick Lawson of Ghana. I don’t know much about Lawson, but he’s undefeated with 20 KO’s in 23 wins so he seems to have some pop in his punches. Lawson has mostly faced unknown fighters from Ghana, with unimpressive records, other than in his last fight where he beat fellow Ghanian, and well known journeyman, Ray Narh in the only fight of his I’ve gotten the chance to watch. This is a big step up for him against a guy who has knocked out Amir Khan, beaten current lightweight champ Richar Abril and been in the ring with Terrence Crawford, Mike Alvarado and Miguel Vazquez. If Lawson doesn’t possess a solid chin, he might be in trouble against Prescott, just ask Amir Khan.
