Breaking NFL News: Chiefs Throttle the Texans 30-0
The first game of this season’s NFL playoffs was a complete rout. Kansas City’s Knife Davis returned the opening kickoff 106 yards for a touchdown and the Chiefs never looked back. Houston’s ineptitude on offense doomed them to an ugly defeat. Texans quarterback Brian Hoyer committed 5 turnovers and ended the game with an odious quarterback rating of 15.9. In spite of their offensive miscues, the Houston defense, led by J.J. Watt, performed admirably keeping them in the game in the first half. However, Kansas City drove 11 plays and 94 yards for a touchdown on their opening possession of the second half to extend the lead to 20-0, essentially putting an end to the competitive phase of this football game.
The Chiefs move on to the division round to face either the Denver Broncos or the New England Patriots, depending on the result of tonight’s Bengals-Steelers game. The Texans’ season comes to an end. Coach Bill O’Brien has done an outstanding job with this team but they are not quite ready for prime-time just yet.
