Bengals Stupidity Costs Them the Game Against Steelers – NFL News

SteelersBy Dave “Mythical” Siderski

On a rain soaked night, it was all there for the Cincinnati Bengals. In spite of being grossly outplayed over the first three quarters, they were still in the game trailing by a score of 15-0. The momentum shifted when Ben Roethlisberger was injured on a sack by Vontaze Burfict late in the third quarter. Bengals backup quarterback A.J. McCarron led them to three scoring drives in the 4th quarter and Cincinnati led 16-15 with 1:50 remaining in the game. On the ensuing possession, Burfict intercepted Landry Jones and returned to the Steelers 26, seemingly sealing the game for the Bengals.

However, J. Hill fumbled a handoff on the next possession, giving the Steelers one final chance. The Bengals defense then suffered a complete meltdown as back to back 15 yard penalties set up the game winning field goal by Chris Boswell. The Steelers pull out the last second 18-16 victory and move on to face the Denver Broncos in the divisional playoff round.
