Packers Pummel the Redskins 35-18 – NFL News

GBBy Dave “Mythical” Siderski

It did not look good for the Green Bay Packers early in this one as their late season woes seemed to continue. Aaron Rodgers completed just 1 of his first 8 passes and the Packers gained a paltry 11 yards of total offense in the first quarter. At that point, the Redskins held an 11-0 lead. However, Green Bay’s offense then caught fire scoring on six of its next seven possessions. The offensive line figured out its protection woes and Rodgers completed 20 of his final 28 passes as Green Bay blew the game open in the second half.

In spite of being harassed all day and suffering 6 quarterback sacks, Washington’s Kirk Cousins threw for 329 yards. However, it was not nearly enough on this day. The Packers move on to face the Arizona Cardinals in the divisional playoffs. The Washington Redskins’ overachieving season comes to an end. The Super Bowl chase is now down to eight teams.
